Overview:
Are you passionate about computer graphics topics such as globe rendering, 3D GIS (geographic information systems), digital twins, or the metaverse?

At the Esri R&D Center Zurich, we are looking for a product engineer who will help us to grow and maintain the ArcGIS API for JavaScript. Our API empowers web developers around the globe to build compelling 3D scenes and mapping applications.

Join us to push the state of the art in browser-based 3D graphics and GIS.
Responsibilities:
  • Work together with our team of UX/UI designers, software engineers, and computer graphics enthusiasts on developing new 3D GIS capabilities
  • Create compelling product samples, blogs and documentation to showcase new features
  • Reproduce, report, and manage bugs found through in-house testing or reported by customers
  • Help gathering requirements by interacting with our users and our product management team
  • Collaborate closely with our other Zurich teams (ArcGIS Scene Viewer, Urban, CityEngine, XR & Unreal Engine) and our colleagues in the California HQ
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, cartography, geography, or a related field
  • 1+ years of relevant experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, CSS, and HTML
  • Basic understanding of 3D computer graphics and/or 3D GIS concepts
  • First experiences with Web GIS
  • Good intuition for the aesthetics and technical aspects of information visualization
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
Recommended Qualifications:
  • Passion for quality, detail oriented and knowledge on how to break software
  • Experience with writing technical documentation
  • 3D modelling background
  • Knowledge of the agile software development processes and methodologies
